What's Up on Coupon Deals?

Working as researcher can be very fascinating and educational. There are so many things that you can learn and discover that you can actually use yourself. Take for example this recent research that I did for a client regarding free coupons.

Online coupons is not really new to me, but I often just ignore them because most deals are not applicable for my location. Of course, when I was asked to do some research and actually started reading, I learned there are coupons and deals that I can actually use. It just takes a little more searching and computing for the shipping.

One site that I found is called savings.com. The site have a lot of coupons and deals from well-known brands and stores and a wide variety of categories. Of course, I went straight to kids and baby deals which is something that had become an habit for me whenever I'm researching. But what I was really looking for that time were coffee coupons. My client owns a site that sells coffee and wanted to know what deals he can offer for this products.

Btw, if you guys are still looking for a restaurant for this coming Valentines, you might want to check out these restaurant coupons. It wouldn't hurt to save a little on that date.

15 Things About My 15-month Old Boy

1. He’s finally walking

I was a little concern when he didn’t start walking at 12 months. Princess Ki did it at 10 months, so though I knew that Ki was advanced, I was still hoping that he’ll start walking at 1 year old. But NO, he took his time. I can see he could but he was already in his 14th month when he decided to let go and walk by himself.

Now, we can’t stop him. He’s everywhere, walking and walking and going places he’s not suppose to go. It’s funny how he teach himself, first to walk from one furniture to the next, then turning without holding on to anything, and finally, running.

2. His favorite phrase: Tete tata (Ate tara or Sister let’s go)

Aside from walking, he is also starting to speak. He can say the usual stuff, ma-ma for mommy, da-da for daddy, jeje – for dede or milk, and te-te for Ate (Big Sister). He’s current favorite though is “tete tata” which means “Ate, tara” or Sister, let’s go.

He would often call out to his sister this way when he wants her to play with him or when I’m calling the princess.

3. Yum-yum-yum-yum-yum, delicioso

Mouthing everything he’s holding is still a common sight. Toys, crayons, his hands, his shirt and well EVERYTHING.

4. Big boy appetite

If he’s not mouthing his toys, he’s busy eating real food. Like Ki, he eats anything that you give him and that makes it so much easier for me to feed both kids. And he can eat as much as I could…no joke!

5. His Turn

The little guy is starting to demand for his own time. Before, he would just look at me and his sister when we’re playing and hugging and bonding. But now, he wants in on the action. If I carry the sister, he also wants to be carried. If big sister gets a hug, he wants one, too. And when Ki teased him and try to prevent him from getting hug, he’ll pull his sister’s hair so she’ll get out of the way. When he gets his own time with mommy, he also hates to share. Nope, if mommy’s hugging him, he won’t allow his sister to come near us…lol!

6. His favorite game: Peek-a-boo

Of course, like most babies, the Little Guy loves to play peek-a-boo. Whether it's a pillow or a sheet, he'll sure to hide his face and do some peek-a-boos. He especially love it when his sister play with him. He would often cover his sister's face with a blanket then pull it away.

He would often run to our room, and when I go check what he’s doing, his already under the sheet ready to surprise me. Give him a small cloth and he’ll play peek-a-boo on the spot.

7. He loves his baby bike

He used to ignore his bike when he got it at 5 months ago. But he discovered that we can actually hide things inside a compartment under the sit so now, everything he knew I won’t let him have goes there. It’s also a good place to hide his big sister’s accessories.

8. Ate’s toys

Even though he received a lot of new toys last Christmas, the Little Guy still loves to play with his sister’s toys especially the toy plates and spoon. He loves to pretend that he’s eating and would often sneak to his sister’s kitchen set to steal a plate and a spoon.

9. The Little Guy and his slipper

The Little Guy finally realized that there’s a world outside of our apartment and that we usually put his shoe/slipper on before we go out. So now, he gets his slipper, do his best to put in on (usually with no or very little success) and pull me out of the house. He would even try to put my slipper on my feet so both of us are ready to go.

10. Take me with you

Because he enjoys going out now, he’s not letting anyone leave the house without taking him with them. If you leave him, the entire apartment can hear his loud husky baby cry…

11. No doctors, please

Yes, another doctor-hater here. Honestly, it’s so hard to convince kids that doctors are good guys when every time they meet, it’s for another round of vaccine….

He’s even worth that the Princess. He cried from the moment we stand in front of the clinic and would refuse to put his foot down to walk-in.

12. Hahahaha!

This, I think, is the craziest thing about the Little Guy. When he hears anyone laugh, he would turn (even approach) that person, and laugh to his face. As in, hahaha-fake-sounding laugh. One time we were having dinner in a restaurant and he heard the people next to our table laughing. He turned to them, made sure that they noticed them and laugh…every can’t help but laugh back at him…

13. Bye, bye, daddy

He know how to say bye now though he only to it to daddy and only if his the one leaving. Otherwise, it’s take-me-with-you action. Lol!

14. Mwah!

I finally succeeded teach the Little Guy how to kiss. I looks more like he’s about to bite you but he’ll just make sure that he’s open mouth touches you, saliva and all.

15. Don’t work, mommy

I usually start working as early as 5am every day before the kids and hubby wakes up. (I get a lot of things done this way.) And the first thing that the Little Guy does when he opens his eyes and sees that I’m not beside him is check if I’m sitting in front of the computer. If I am, he’ll cry and run towards me, removing my hands from the computer. He will then signal that I carry him and bring him to the living room…anywhere far from the computer. I’m not allowed to touch the computer when his around and there’s no way I can convince him otherwise….

Princess Ki was my parent's first grandchild, so everybody just have to have a picture with her.

They are also very excited when Tok was born but the Princess doesn't want to share so most of his newborn pictures are with Ate (Big Sister)...

Keeping the Kids Busy While Travelling

Traveling with two very young kids (we're talking about a 1 and 3 her) can be really tough especially if it's a long drive. Kids can easily get bored and travel can be a nightmare if you're not ready.

Hubby and I were brave enough to try traveling with the kids this last Christmas without bringing along someone to help us take care of the kids. I usually bring my younger sister along, but not this time.

The little guy would be easy to handle since he loves to sleep on drives but the Princess needs a lot of entertaining to keep her busy.

For our last trip, snacks, finger puppets and picture books did the trick. But if your kids are a little older, I think the best way would be to play bingo -- Road Trip Bingo.

When I was young, I remember playing road trip bingo with my siblings during trips to the province. My mom's province is a 16-hour drive from Manila so it was really a very long boring drive. The game kept us entertained the entire trip and because we were busy looking for items in our cards, the time passed by without us noticing it.

It really is a great way to keep everyone busy and at the same time everyone gets to enjoy the scenery. Now a days, they are road trip bingo cards that you can buy in stores but when I was young, we usually do them ourselves. Creating the card was already a fun activity for us even before the trip. And because my mom would include pictures of landmarks that she knew we'll be passing by, it also turned into an educational activity for us.

Mommy Moments - New Year's List

It's Friday and it's time for Mommy Moments.

This week’s mommy moment is New Year's List. If there's one significant thing about this year for me, it’s becoming a working mom of 2 kids who are very close in age. Before the year started, things were pretty much in control but when I got back from work…it was a totally different ball game. So instead of my new year goal, let me share the list of things that I’ve learned and realized about mothering 2 kids while working.

1. They will always fight for your attention unless to give them their own mommy time.

Because I was working, I was sort of hoping that both kids would agree to play with me at the same time and then we can all rest or mommy can do other things around the house. BIG MISTAKE! They need their alone time with mommy and if you don’t give it to them, they will find ways to torture you…I mean get you’re attention.

2. I learn to accept that the Little Guy will never have my undivided attention (at least while his sister’s around)…BUT IT”S OKAY because he has an Ate (Big Sister) who loves him as much as I do.

Before, I would really feel guilty that he’s not getting enough attention from me because I have to also take care of Ki. But then I realized that should stop counting the time but start counting the love. Sure we only an hour to ourselves every morning before Princess Ki wakes up and ask for mommy. But after that, he gets to play with his loving Ate who’s doesn’t everything to make him laugh…

3. I realize that there's not much (almost none) resources on how to raise a second child. Why is that?

True there's a lot of things to read about parenting in general especially about first time parenting but raising your second child while your first still need just as much attention from you is something I haven't had success of finding...so while I'm still searching, I'm currently relaying on my fellow mom bloggers and LEARNING HOW TO WING IT.

4. I realize that I have a wonderful parents.

Sure he have our not so good moments in the past (haven't you) and we have our set of differences when in comes to raising kids. But when all is said and done, they are the ones that I can relay on to look after my kids when I can't get out of a meeting that is taking forever to finish or come rushing to our house when I can't get dinner ready because both kids just won't let me. I LOVE YOU NANAY AND TATAY!

5. I learn that I'm not less of a parent just because I'm a working mom.

I know it's crazy but I really feel bad not being able to devote all my time with my kids. Having a full time job takes me away from my kids for 10-12 hours a day. When I get home from work they are almost ready to sleep if not already in bed.

But instead of beating myself up because of this, I learn to find ways to make time for them. Just last month, I've convinced my boss to let me spend just 4 hours in the office and work from home the rest of my working hours. That allows me to work out a schedule so I don't always have to rush my kids to my parents house in the morning so I can go to work on time. YEHEY! I'm still trying to figure out how I can turn into a WAHM (my 2009 goal) but I'm close.

Well, that's my list...if you want to read more New Year's List visit Chris and other mom's in

I've Been Good This Christmas

Loosing my camera last year was really hard for me...and though I never bugged hubby about it, he knows that all I want for Christmas is a new one.

Well, looks like I've been good last year because I got my wish. Hubby bought me a camera just after Christmas and the first thing I did was take picture of the Little Guy who has very little pictures for his first year!

Here's some of my favorite pictures...

I just love this time in the morning when natural light comes in from our window...

And of course, here's the little guy doing what he loves best...clinging to mommy. lol!
